Robots: Are They The Future?
As we enter a new decade, we are greeted by a synergy of different services and products that try tediously hard to make our lives a tad less challenging. If or not a majority of those accomplish that task, is completely subjective. However, one thing’s for certain, Robots fit the bill brilliantly! Whether it’s their unmatched utility or deliciously sharp wit, we humans love to fantasize about the convenience that these wonderful inventions would bring to our lives! Our knowledge and perception of Artificial Intelligence and Robots primarily come from the media we consume. Whether it's Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘The Terminator’ or Star Wars’ C3PO, Robots are shown as highly intelligent inventions that have the power to accomplish the task that they were programmed to carry out. For instance, a study conducted in Italy in 2012 evaluated the public opinion toward Robots and AI specifically, in the region of Europe. Regardless of the application or field of interest people agreed that Robotics plays a vital role in the very fabric of culture and represents the pinnacle of modernity in our ever-progressing society. As we jostle towards a new age of Science or Technology, the need for smart and effective innovation is at its peak. As humans, the strive for perfection is also reflected in our work. Robotics is a field where this is highlighted tremendously. The very nature to create and craft our visions into reality through the power of thought is almost biblical in and of itself. As we continue to reminisce and create let’s remember that we too are creations and fuel this to help those in need and take time to rest on our seemingly metallic laurels. Hey, who knows! Maybe get those Robots to serve us sometime!
